Photo Gallery Long Beach Blues Festival Photos
I had been going to this Festival almost every year since 1985 before I stopped going after the 2003 festival. (I only missed 1988...) Through those years I have experienced lots of exciting moments at this event. It originally started out in 1980 as the "KLON Blues & Gospel Festival", only a small half-day event drawing approximately 700 people. When I first attended in 1985, it was a two-day event held in the middle of September with crowd about 4,000 each day, I think. Over the years, the Festival got bigger & bigger, and between 1996 and 2000, they did it for three days each year. In 2001, it was once again set back to two-day event, but it's still going, drawing well over 10,000 each day.Here are some of the photos taken at the past festivals (and some reviews, too!) after they started to allow photographs in 1987.
